The Origin of Tapas is not clear however the most
widely told story is when the King of Castilla,
Alfonso the tenth (circa 1200), was ill he could
only eat small bites of food and washed them down with wine.
When he recovered, he declared it was the only way to eat and decreed that no wines were to be served in the Inns without food.
